Özet

In this study, pumpkin seed was dried in an infrared energy closed type heat pump dryer and the results were investigated. Three important factors (air velocity, relative humidity and temperature) affecting the drying were adjusted on PLC display screen and the set data were controlled. The relative humidity value was fixed as 25 % by using dehumidifying unit on experimental setup. Drying air velocity and temperature were set as 1 m/s and 45 C, respectively. Coefficient of performance of the heat pump (COPhp) was calculated as 4.86 and whole system coefficient of performance (COPts) was calculated as 1.37. Pumpkin seeds were dried from 0.470 gwatedgchy metter initial moisture content to 0.055 gwater/gdry matter final moisture content in 1.5 hour.
